St. Michan's Church & Crypt - Dublin

This was one of the more interesting things we saw in Dublin. St. Michan's was originally built with wood in 1095 and has since seen many renovations. The last being in the mid 1600's. The crypt below was amazing. They have the typical skulls laying about and one of the crypt rooms had several open caskets. The oldest body being close to 450 years old - a nun. Also, there's a 6 foot crusader. Due to the constant cool temperature because of the limestone walls and some natural gas that seeps from the ground (I forget the name of it), the bodies are perfectly mummyfied.

The skull pic didn't come out well - it was too dark and I couldn't hold the camera still enough to account for the super-slow shutter speed - but you get the idea.
