Billingsgate Market

Woke up at 3:50am and took a series of buses to Billingsgate Market for the 5am open. It's one of the largest fish markets in Europe and the largest in the UK. It was massive. The cast of characters who worked there was priceless along with the exotic fish and shellfish. I was struggling from the time I got there to get in the groove. It was all so busy and intense and the lack of sleep wasn't helping. I stepped outside and started wandering around the building and walked into a loading bay. As the sun was rising and in the quiet of the outskirts of the market I took this shot:

After this I bucked up and went back in and got some nice shots. Next up is Smithfields Market - which is the largest meat and game market in the UK and again, one of the largest in Europe.
