OK so the European leaders will be meeting this Friday to discuss the impending banking crisis in Europe and the ways to steer clear of a total de-fragmentation of the EU. (Side note, I really need to get my act together on my Belgium trip. It's cheap and like a hour away. Brussels, Bruge, Antwerp, boom done.) Back to my rant, maybe I picked the wrong line of work. Sales is hard enough, without a major cluster £%&* going on. My boss said, "well, next year will be harder, so prepare for that..." There certainly will be some dark days ahead if the EU fails, and I just read in the Economist that Britian is heading/or is already in, another recession - albiet much smaller than the one in 2008. Last time the world was like this it took a certain Jew hating small moutashed man to get everyone, inadvertantly, out of the sewers. American boomed after 1945. I feel confindent saying that scenario doesn't look likely.
So after being in sales - with my 6th anniversary passing - I've been selling in a recession for 5 out of 6 years. What the hell. 2006 and beginning of 2007 were awesome. Everything after...stressful, hard, unexciting, and unprofitable. The thing I have going for me of course is salespeople are needed in boom times and in recessions, and the better you are the more you shine when an economy is in the crapper. I shouldn't, unless there's a depression, have a hard time ever finding a job in sales. I'm thankful for that, but still...bring 2006 back....
HAAA couldn't agree with you more, I too am waiting for the economy to get healthy!!
