The City: The More You Know!

The City of London is a one square mile area of London  (on the north side of the Thames River) and encapsulates London's financial district. The area was the original Roman settlement and there's still ruins of aqueducts and walls built from that era. The Romans named the city Londinium - which, obviously became London. It's the oldest area of the city and has some of the coolest buildings. One of my favorite being the  30 St Mary Axe building - also known as the Gherkin (or pickle).
